Day 22 – 17/03/2026

Thinking about film essays as a means of documentation/ archiving. Generally wanting to capture everything in case it becomes apparently relevant.

Also thinking about Found Poetry.

Here are some statements I have overheard and noted down recently whilst out in London.

  • “Drinks at a bar, maybe out to a club, but always chips at the end.” – a member of Station Staff at Marble Arch Underground, on how they’d prefer to spend their Friday night.
  • “Be careful of the edge.”“Are you okay?” – a passenger on the underground, to another, unknown passenger standing close to the platform edge at Oxford Circus on a Friday night.
  • “I hate this place. I hate it here.” – a woman walking barefoot, and crying at Piccadilly Circus on a Thursday morning.
  • “Wake up JJ, wake up!” – a man cycling on a residential road, at nearly 2PM on a Saturday.
  • “Well – we all do sex work.” – a woman, walking down Holloway Road on a Sunday afternoon.
