As I’ve been progressing actively with my ideas surrounding the current brief, I am increasingly aware of the time I spend specifically not painting, as was my intention. This is something I’ve noticed many times over the years, a sort of procrastination, or rather, feeling like I must do everything before I can begin (yes, or ‘resume’) any creative task.

To say ‘I’ve noticed’ is an understatement – I’ve read books on how to value and respect myself as an artist; books that have explained (in many different ways I relate) how and why art is important for everyone, not just those who actively feel their creative abilities and ideas as they try to otherwise battle through other daily life-tasks. I often feel I can’t help but be creative, and if there were two of me, one for general life and logistics; one for art – I still wouldn’t achieve half of the creative ideas that come to my mind throughout the average day.
