Day 9 – 04/03/2026

I enjoyed presenting my idea in Pecha Kucha format today to a small group of student-peers.

Putting together the PK slides was a bit of a challenge in itself, and required me to visualise my FMP possibilities a bit more, as well as highlighting some necessary research I think I’ll want to undertake as I progress. For example – looking into illustration styles, as well as photography.

One of my feedback points/ reference recommendations was to look into illustrated books in general bookshops – to see how stories can be visually depicted. I like, and will act on this recommendation, especially because I already have an interest in graphic novels and comic books… seems I’ve already found another excuse to visit Gosh Comics in Soho again, too! As well as general styles, I’ll once again be looking for ways in which individual/ independent zines and comics are presented, as I did in Unit 1, but with a focus on memoirs, and autobiographical publications perhaps.
