I haven’t written up any thoughts for a while, mostly because I have been hooked on finding new (*new to me) footage from the year 2000.

I feel I have gotten quite caught up in the creating of a compilation film, and yet I feel my piece is missing something. I’m struggling to narrow down my options for further development – which isn’t exactly a bad thing but I feel overloaded with ideas. I think the best way to currently deal with this would be to try several ideas out practically. In the present moment I am struggling to consider or focus on them all; so I shall make a list.

• Create a booth/space that represents my personal view of that specific time
• Compartmentalise how I/ we view news and think more statistically; with less emotion/ empathy
• Juxtapose visual news from certain years with audio pop-culture references (e.g. songs, television/ film dialogue, etc) played over the top

Despite the above options leading me to further considerations, I don’t fully gel with any of the overall idea outcomes, and feel a little out of my depth considering how I would source, watch and edit so much content efficiently for the purposes of this assignment deadline.
